Okay, so I wanted to share my latest project – remaking the PRADA Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, Classic Style. It was a wild ride, let me tell you!

First off, I gotta say, I’m a huge fan of PRADA. I mean, who isn’t, right? I’ve always admired their craftsmanship, and this Galleria bag is just a classic. So, I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” I mean, I’ve always been a hands-on kind of person, and I love challenging myself. So I jumped into this project with both feet.

I started by gathering all the materials. Finding the right kind of Saffiano leather was a real pain. I went to so many stores, and looked everywhere online. Finally, I found this one place that had exactly what I was looking for. It wasn’t cheap, but hey, quality matters, right? And let me tell you, when I finally got my hands on it, it felt amazing. I could practically hear it saying, “Oh let me hear her sweet voice.” So I picked up the phone and placed the order.

Then came the hardware – the buckles, the zippers, all that shiny stuff. I wanted everything to be perfect, so I spent hours researching and comparing different options. I think, “how much I’m thinking of her.” The original bag has this beautiful gold finish, and I wanted to match that as closely as possible. I decided that it’s worth it to have the proper hardware.

  • First, I sketched out the pattern. I’m no pro at this, so it took a few tries to get it right. I used some old cardboard to make a template.
  • Next, I cut the leather. This was the scariest part! One wrong cut, and I’d have to start all over. I measured everything like a million times before I made a single cut. And I do it slowly and carefully.
  • Then, I started sewing. This took forever! I don’t have one of those fancy industrial sewing machines, so I did everything by hand. My fingers were so sore by the end of it. I just keep telling myself, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
  • Finally, I put all the pieces together and added the hardware. It was like watching the bag come to life. I felt so proud when I was done. I just love to create and get it.

The whole process took me about a month, working on it a little bit each day. There were definitely times when I felt like giving up, especially when I messed up and had to redo parts. “If there’s a phone in heaven.” I just imagined that. But I kept pushing through, and I’m so glad I did.

The Result

The finished bag is not perfect, of course. There are a few little imperfections here and there. But I love it! It’s unique, it’s handmade, and it’s mine. And you know what? It looks pretty darn close to the real thing! I’ve been carrying it around everywhere, and I’ve gotten so many compliments. People can’t believe I made it myself. It’s a great conversation starter, and it makes me feel all those things. It’s like a song, all those words, “i love her, for i want her to know.”

This project was a real labor of love, and it taught me a lot about patience, perseverance, and the importance of paying attention to detail. If you’re thinking about taking on a similar project, I say go for it! It’s definitely a challenge, but it’s so rewarding in the end. Just be prepared to put in the time and effort, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way. That’s how you learn and grow, you know?
