Alright, folks, gather ’round! Today, I’m gonna share with you all about my latest project – I tried to remake the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Yeah, you heard that right, the one from that super fancy brand, YSL.
So, first off, I started by looking at a ton of pictures of the bag online. I mean, a lot. I needed to get every little detail just right, you know? I carefully studied the bag’s shape, the stitching, the hardware, everything. I even zoomed in on those pics like a detective looking for clues.
Next up, I had to find the right materials. This was a bit of a challenge, let me tell you. I searched high and low for the perfect leather, something that looked and felt like the real deal. After hitting up a bunch of stores, I finally found a piece that I thought would work. Then came the hardware – the buckles, the logo, all that shiny stuff. I ended up ordering some pieces online, hoping they’d match the pictures I was working from.
- Gathering all the pieces.
- Cutting the leather was the next big step. I made a pattern based on the dimensions of the original bag, and carefully cut out each piece. This part took forever, ’cause I was so scared of messing up.
- Then came the sewing. Now, I’m not a professional seamstress or anything, but I’ve got a decent sewing machine and I know the basics. I slowly stitched the pieces together, following the pattern I’d made. There were a few tricky parts, especially around the corners and edges, but I managed to get through it.
- Once the main body of the bag was done, I added the hardware. This was actually kind of fun. Attaching the buckles and the logo made the bag start to look like, well, a bag!
- Finally, I added the strap. And just added some finishing touches, like making sure all the edges were smooth and neat.
The Result
And… it’s done! It’s not perfect, of course, but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It definitely looks like a YSL JUNE BOX BAG, even if it’s not the real thing. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. It is worth mentioning that, this bag on their official online store looks really nice. Maybe next time I’ll try to remake another classic bag. Who knows!
