Wow, an update!

I have been really busy, but there is always time for work on a worthy open source project!

I have joined the OpenGUI team (is 2 guys really a team?).

I really need a better GUI for my projects and OpenGUI will provide that base that I currently lack with the J5/LuaGUI. The prospect of using a "real tool" to design GUI screens will make the art staff really happy and the code support that I have seen from the "team" (i.e. "zeroskills") is going to, eventually, make my life easier.

Besides, how much better can I evangelize Lua than get it included in a great open source GUI project???

Lua Tool

Trango Interactive is beta testing a new tool for Lua and Visual Studio. It provides syntax highlighting, Intellisense and most importantly debugging of Lua scripts. Using the VS.Net debugger on lua scripts is a dream come true for many Lua developers.

The product is clearly still in beta and has some major problems. The biggest problem is the lack of support for custom versions of Lua. I am told that they are working on this support. Without the ability to use a custom Lua DLL, the debugging feature has very little real world appilcation.

Once they get the bugs orked out, it will be a very good addition to any Lua developer's bag-o-tricks.

MahJongg: Tiles of Time

First sighting of the latest J5 product!

I know you will do the right thing!

While you are at it, pick up a copy of "Game Development with Lua"!

Ogre 1.2

The Ogre team has released Ogre 1.2.

I am starting to port our 1.0.7 codebase to the new release, so far about 20 compiler error. Could have been ALOT worse.

Small Ogre Contribution

I wrote a small tutorial on how to get a mouse cursor in Ogre without resorting to CEGUI. I really dislike CEGUI, so this was something I needed.

The tutorial can be found here in the Ogre Wiki.

Thanks to everyone at the meeting last night! We had a lively discussion and even had some sparks fly.

Its always nice to meet new people and yap (on and on and on) about game development.
